Local Area
Four Crosses is right on Offa's Dyke Path, so is an ideal location for the many walkers who like to visit this part of the country to take in the National Trail. Also close by and within walking distance, is the Montgomeryshire Canal, which provides some lovely walks with abundance of nature. There are many country lanes to explore either by foot or by bicycle and the rivers Vyrnwy and Severn are close by on the Cycle routes.
For keen walkers and explorers the Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve and the Limeworks Heritage centre is close by, where you'll come across a particularly rare Hofmann lime kilns. Rodneys Pillar at the the top of the Briedden hills can be seen from the camp site and is worth a visit.
For those wanting to venture further up into the hills and Mountains of Mid Wales, the Berwyns and Snowdonia National Park can are around an hours travelling distance.
We are within close travelling distance of the small market town of Welshpool, home to the National Trusts Powis Castle which is well known for its impressive formal gardens. Also within easy travelling distance are Lake Vyrnwy and Chirk Castle.
The border town of Oswestry is approximately 8 miles away, with larger towns Shrewsbury and Chester a short travelling distance
There are a variety of fishing venues in the local area, with Weston Pools fishery being approximately 7 miles away.
For younger visitors Park Hall Farm Experience, approximately 10 miles away, gives your family the chance to meet farm animals plus indoor and outdoor play areas.
Within the local area we have some fine country pubs and a good selection of takeaways including a Chinese takeaway and Fish and chip shop in the village and a selection of Indian, Kebab and Pizza takeaways within a 5 minute drive.
